What can I put near my bird feeders to keep squirrels away?
Is there something I can plant, or some other chemical I can put out near my bird feeders to keep squirrels away?We have a lot of squirrels around here, and I have had several bird feeders ruined by these long tailed monsters. I hate squirrels. Whenever I see one of those things run over in the road, I think, " good." The only reason why people don't treat them like rats is because of those long tails. Those tails are their PR. So, any suggestions? Plants or chemicals that are harmless to birds, but will frighten squirrels away?
Is it safe to put cayenne pepper in bird feeders?
Squirrels get in my wild bird feeders & eat the seeds, leaving the birds with nothing. I heard that putting cayenne in the feeders would stop the squirrels from eating the seeds. However, I need to know if this will hurt the birds before I try the cayenne. Thanks to anyone who can answer my question.

What will help me keep racoons off my bird feeders?
When I said " pops on the ground" I meant to say, one he popped onto the ground, & took apart........ where do they learn these things?I've got some beautiful red throated hummingbirds that I love & feed. The coons have eaten through 3 feeders & popped on to the ground breaking it to smithereens.I've got a trap & have baited it the third time, the first 2,he got the bait, How I have no idea, & tricked the trap & finally got one of the little buggers.. Just taken him off to a more less humid enviroment, safely mind you I did not hurt it. But this is a slow go. he even gets on the screens of the doors & climbs around now & gets to the ones hanging off the house. Help please?Thank you to anybody.xooxWhy did that put the details, upside down? lolIt's like 2 00 am here when he hits & It's not coon season anyway. if it were daylight it would be though
